Character, description

Perfect white wood. Differentiated sapwood, fine texture, lovely finish, poor natural durability, easy to process. The homogenous, light colour of spruce has a natural silky sheen and a distinct texture which can tend towards marked bands. According to where it grew, this tree will have either very narrow or very wide growth rings with a well-differentiated heartwood. The colour varies from straw to deep yellowish-brown with little difference between the sapwood and the heartwood.
