Character, description

It’s an oak tree that has been in peat bogs for centuries of years, which gives it a particular aspect. When the tannic acid of the wood reacts with the emanations of gas from the bog, the wood is discoloured. The trunks of the trees found there reveal their intrinsic treasure when they are sliced up into sheets of veneer. During production, marsh oak shows blue, greenish-blue or coal-black hues. This wood with decorative wide pores has a ribboned or grainy pattern, above all in a radial plane, where the vast ray-lines of the wood stand out. Veneer thickness of the wood : 0.6 mm.
