Character, description
Very hard wood, fine grain, difficult to process in solid form, used for parquets. As veneer, its red colour veined with purplish and yellow veining, led to its being used between the thirties and sixties as a substitute for rosewood in the manufacture of cheap copies of XVIIIth century furniture.
